They’re back! That’s right, the
Dorset Corset Theatre Company will be performing yet again on the stage at
Portland’s very own Royal Manor Theatre.
This is a very exciting time for
the Royal Manor Theatre, as this is the third year that we have played host to
such a great professional touring company.
This year, they’re bringing us
Jane Austen’s ‘Northanger Abbey’, adapted by Helen Davis.
Catherine Morland
is hopelessly addicted to Mrs Radcliffe's lurid and macabre gothic novel 'The
Mysteries of Udolpho'. In Bath she
falls for the witty Henry Tilney whose family invite her to the dark and
sinister Northanger Abbey. Excited by the prospect she readily accepts,
but is she any safer there? At
Northanger Abbey Catherine's over-active imagination causes her two worlds to
collide as fantasy gets in the way of reality. Can she separate the two?
Using live music, physical performers, and their own unique
performance style, The Dorset Corset Theatre Company is set to thrill audiences this autumn with their new
adaptation of Jane Austen’s classic novel ‘Northanger Abbey’.
As some of you may recall from previous experience, these shows are truly special, and are live professional theatre at it’s very best. Last year we saw a complete sell out, within days of having tickets available. So this year, we’ve arranged for the show to be performed for two nights. However, if last years ticket sales are anything to go by, there won’t be many spare seats, so please, book early!
There will be two performances this year at Portland’s very
own Royal Manor Theatre. These will be
on Thursday 23rd, and Friday 24th October. Both starting at 7.30pm. Tickets are priced at £10 for adults, and £9
for concessions
Tickets are now available from the theatre box office on: 01305
860792, or on-line from this very website.

Remember; book now to avoid disappointment, for what will
truly be a great night out.
