The Committee

The Royal Manor Theatre is run entirely by volunteers.  However, there are a group of people who actually ‘manage’ the company’s welfare and status.  These people are known as ‘The Committee’.

It is The Committee’s job to ensure that the Theatre remains a prosperous, thriving, and entertaining place for the local community.  It is also there to make important decisions regarding the future of the building itself, such as; interior design, building décor, building maintenance and so on.

The head of the committee is called the Chairman.  The Chairman has the final say at any committee meeting, although it is a requirement that he or she digests all relevant concerns, comments and suggestions from members of the committee, before making his or her final decision.

The company also has a…

Also, several other members of the company are dedicated to serving on the committee, in addition to the above.

Committee Meetings

Committee meetings are held once a month.  They are structured to an Agenda, to which items of relevance are discussed.  It is here, that the committee talk about such things as; Future productions, expenditure issues, accident reports, membership issues, publicity, building maintenance, as well as anything else that may require discussion.

Many things, which concern either the general public, or members of the company, are often brought to the attention of the committee.  For example; if you want to direct a play, or want to see a specific play performed, you can bring this to the attention of the committee.  Or perhaps you want to see better facilities?  If so, you can simply speak to a member of the committee in person, so that he or she may bring up this item as a topic of discussion at the next committee meeting

Or you can contact us directly.  Either way, we would be delighted to hear from you.

Annual General Meetings

You are invited to attend our Annual General Meeting, or AGM as they’re known.  In fact, anyone can attend.  You can’t vote though, unless you’re a member or Patron.  Attending an AGM, would give you the opportunity, to ask members of the company anything which you have on your mind.  Perhaps you might even like to serve on the committee?  Each year, depending on certain circumstances, places on the committee can and do arise.  If this should happen, you are welcome to become nominated, and have the opportunity to have your say on what goes on within the company.
